Frequently Asked Questions
Are there fees involved ( Annual / Monthly / Travel), what do the fees
cover?
There
is an initial Annual Fee which is due when you accept your National Invitation
which covers all administrative fees.
FBC does not have monthly fees for the High School national travel
program.
Each parent is responsible for their daughters FBC Travel Club expenses which
includes Air Fare,
Tournament Entry Fees, Van Rentals, and Hotels. Uniforms,
Shoes and Coaches (Hotel, Air fare ) are included as well. There are FBC Travel
Club fee
payment schedules available..
How many practices per week will you be having?
Two (2) practices per week, one during the week and one on Sunday's
after services.
How are the various teams chosen? How
many players per team? Her best friend and teammate of many years was also
invited to play with FBC. Will they be able to play together?
Teams
are chosen by a players position, skill level and most important, the
players ability to stand out while competing in front of College coaches. It
does not make any difference what team you are on if do not stand out in the
Colleges eyes and leave an impression in there minds.
The players per team max is 10-12 players.
Friends or family members in the past have played together
on the same FBC teams when the situation is beneficial for both players in terms
of exposure, confidence and opportunity. All FBC teams practice in the same
facilities and attend the same National Exposure events so if for example a car
pool situation occurs playing on the same team would not become an
issue.
How often do
we
turn in transcripts/grades?
What is the minimum GPA required? What is the NCAA clearinghouse?
To
consult with FBC and have an unofficial H.S. transcript analyzed is at the
players family discretion but we do encourage it. Many players have been
offered scholarships to attend a College and at the last minute were unable to
accept because of a lack of core classes, Cumulative GPA problems, etc.
There is a different process and criteria to attend an Ivy League College. There
are many reason to consult with FBC during the recruiting process.
Below is a link to the NCAA Clearinghouse with information
on GPA
requirements, and mandatory registration information as well as SAT/ACT
requirements. It is Mandatory that all members of the FBC Family register
with the NCAA Clearinghouse

Who watches the girls when they are out town? Are
they allowed to go with their parents?
The
entire FBC Admin and Coaches travel with the teams to every event and is
responsible for supervision along with designated team moms. Players are
allowed to got out with parents or out of town family ( After verification ) as
long as the times do not conflict with team games, meetings, College
campus tours or team activities which must be confirmed each time with the
FBC Admin. in charge on that particular trip.
What if my daughter doesn't get along
with the coach or other players on her team?
After
discussing everything with your family do not hesitate to call the National
Director. We we will work together to ensure your daughters experience is a
great one. Players are not locked in on any one FBC team, it is about
finding the right fit so that your daughters confidence grows and in turn allows
her skill level to increase to an elite level.
Do we need to continue to video tape all
of her high school games? Should we send the videos to colleges she is
interested in?
Video
taping H.S. games is very important along with Club games and Evaluation /
Exposure Camps. The FBC College Consultants will educate you on when, who,
and where to distribute the video tapes.
Do you have a "starting 5" on your
teams? What can my daughter do to get more playing time?
FBC teams do not have a " starting five". The (5) that will start will
always be a game time decision based on player match-ups, strengths, and
weakness. FBC is all about positive exposure. Players will have equal time
to compete.
My daughter has no idea where she wants to attend college? How
should she prepare in order to be able to present, for instance, a list of 10
colleges to you?
FBC
College Consultants will assist you in preparing a general list of schools of
interest from our online data base. FBC College Consultants will also
assist you when it is time to narrow down a top five schools of a major
interest from other offers as well as networking to create College interest and
offers.
My daughter has never stayed at a hotel
out of town/out of the state before. Who will she be staying with? Are there
adults in the room? Do you have meetings in the rooms? What if she gets
homesick?
FBC
teams travel similar too Colleges in terms of roommates
(teammates). We want College
coaches to know that the players in the program are mature, have self discipline
and can handle College athletics. Although there is very tight supervision,
curfews, and a tight schedule we want the student athletes in the FBC program to
began to make good decisions and be disciplined enough to get enough rest,
be on time to all meetings, and compete at the top of their game. Adults
are not allowed in a players room unless it is a medical emergency with the
parents consent. All meetings are in the hotel lobby. Most players at one
point get homesick and the FBC family will always come together to ensure they
will have a great experience.
My daughter plays the post position on her high
school team. She doesn't want to play the post in college, nor is she big
enough to. How will she be placed in position on your team? Will she get
specialized coaching/training for her position? Can you offer names of other
coaches/trainers who can work with her outside of the FBC workouts?
FBC
players will play there natrual position which is based on what position you can
defend at an elite level or (College). No player will be locked into a primary
position. Our goal is to prepare each individual player for College
and create oppoutunities to play in College at multiple positions. See the
Elite Training link for Individual and Clinic
training. The FBC Teams in practice are put through a weekly
rigorous position training program as well.
My daughter has been playing on her "club" team for many years.
They play only local tournaments. If they are playing on a weekend that FBC is
not, is it okay for her to continue to play with them?
FBC
is a National Elite Program and it takes a huge commitment. You will be
practicing with and against some of the top players in America which is not only
a major challenge but will take your game to another level. We practice and
train very hard and the players use any down time they have to get much needed
rest, which is required by our staff to avoid injuries and burn-out. FBC does
not have multi club players, the only schedule we work with is a players high
school. We have a full national schedule set-up to increase a players
opportunity to compete in College. FBC's staff will commit 100% to get a student
athlete in College, we expect the players to commit 100% to the program.
